Description
English: The shore of Cecil Moses Memorial Park on the left bank of the upper Duwamish River, Tukwila, Washington.
  • The shore is held in place by a bulwark of old tires, and is seen here from a pedestrian bridge on the Green River Trail.
Français : la berge du rivage du par mémorial Cecil Moses Memorial Park, sur la rive gauche du cours supérieur du fleuve Duwamish, Tukwila, Etat de Washington aux USA, a été "renforcée" par des empilements de vieux pneus, que l'on voit ici photograhiés à partir d'une passerelle pour piétons sur le sentier de la rivière Verte. Les tentatives de les utiliser dans des récifs artificiels ont montré que les pneus relarguent des composants toxiques pour l'environnement et la plupart des espèces. Ils risquent de brûler et conservent en outre des poches d'eau stagnantes dans les quelles les moustiques peuvent pondre.
