English: One of 5 brass heraldic shields surrounding the monumental brass effigy of Wilmota Giffard (c.1540/1-1581) in St Savoiur's Church, Tor Mohun (now Torquay), Devon. She was the only child and heiress of John Giffard of Yeo Vale, Alwington, Devon, by his wife Margaret Milliton, daughter of John Milliton of Meavy. She married firstly John Bury of Colleton, Chulmleigh, from whom she was divorced, and secondly Sir George Cary (1541-1616) of Cockington, near Tor Mohun, Lord Deputy of Ireland.
