Notes: Title, date, subject note, and keywords provided by the photographer.; Gift; George F. Landegger; 2010; (DLC/PP-2010:090).; Forms part of the George F. Landegger Collection of Alabama Photographs in Carol M. Highsmith's America Project in the Carol M. Highsmith Archive.; It is believed that Johnston came to Cordova with Booker T. Washington in 1902 and that they were run out of town. It is also believed that the hole in the billows of the camera was put there by a member of the KKK.; Credit line: The George F. Landegger Collection of Alabama Photographs in Carol M. Highsmith's America, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.
