English: LIBI_00019_00502; This item is an original albumen, card-mounted photograph of the buffalo hunting camp established while the 7th Cavalry was stationed near Fort Hayes, Kansas. The hunt was given in honor of Lord Waterpark. The photograph is 4 3/4 x 7 3/4" (8 x 9 7/8" mounted) and was produced circa 1867. The photographer was possibly W.S. Soule. On the front, a handwritten notation in pencil reads, "From Ft. Hays [illegible word] on a buffalo hunt in Kansas [illegible words] Lord Paget and Lord Waterpark about 1867-1870?" On the verso, a handwritten notation in pencil reads, "Our buffalo hunting camp/Kansas." Handwritten description on the verso provided by Elizabeth B.
