| Description |
English: Buckhurst Hill tube station looking westbound (actually south here). There was a level crossing just south of the station until the Underground took over the line in 1948. A subway was built here for pedestrians. Moreover, the remains of the original northbound platform dating from the 19th century can be seen on the right, along with the original station building. The northbound platform was moved to its present location some years after the station opened in 1856. |
