Description
English: The remotely piloted X-48C Hybrid / Blended Wing Body technology demonstration aircraft deploys its split ailerons to increase drag and reduce speed after landing on Rogers Dry Lake at Edwards Air Force Base after a brief first flight on Aug. 7, 2012. The flight marked the beginning of a new phase in flight tests of the sub-scale technology demonstrator, modified from the prior X-48B configuration, in a partnership between NASA and The Boeing Company's Phantom Works research and technology division.
