Description
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented. Because of the floriculture in the greenhouses around Aalsmeer it is possible to buy tulips, carnations, hyacinths etc. in the middle of winter. SHOTS: - bare trees; - bulb beds are covered in straw; - in the greenhouses dozens of workers work to pick, collect and wrap the flowers; - at the flower auction the flowers are sold: buyers sit in benches; auction clock; employees of the auction wrap the flowers in airmail boxes; - people buy flowers in a stall (in an wintery street with bare trees).
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd. Dankzij bloementeelt in kassen rond Aalsmeer is het mogelijk midden in de winter tulpen, anjers, hyacinthen ed te kopen. SHOTS: - kale bomen; in de bloembollengebieden zijn de bollenvelden afgedekt met stro; - in de kassen werken tientallen arbeiders aan het plukken, verzamelen en verpakken van bloemen; - op de bloemenveiling worden de bloemen verhandeld: de kopers zitten in banken; veilingklok; medewerkers van de veiling verpakken de bloemen in luchtpostdozen; - mensen kopen (in een winterse straat met kale bomen) bloemen bij een stalletje.
