Description
English: Beamish Museum, England, UK
"Great Eastern Railway Saloon No. 5. This vehicle was built in 1898 for the use of the Princess of Wales, later to become Queen of Alexandra. In 1925 it was modified and converted into an engineer's saloon for which purpose it continued in use until 1972. It then became an office until being purchased for preservation. The saloon then came into the ownership of the Furness Railway Trust and underwent an overhaul at the Appleby Training & Heritage Centre from June 2009 until March 2010. This vehicle is owned by the Furness Railway Trust, registered charity No. 1005211."
