The negative belonging to this photographic print was annotated with "Ain Duke". Ain Duke (Ain Dok; Ain Duq; Ain doq; Ain dog & other alternative spellings) is a fortress of the Hasmonean dynasty on the western edge of Jericho plain near Mount of Temptation, possibly on Mount Quarantania (Jabal al-Quruntul). It is known for the Greek orthodox monastery Deir al-Qarantal and its gardens.
