English: Bale stacks, Penston. Taken from the B6363 which runs through Penston Farm an 870 acre arable enterprise near Macmerry, East Lothian. Big "square" bales stacked in the field, water does not penetrate large bales, so they don't need to be laboriously stacked in a barn like the old small bales. The intention is obvious here, this will be a spring planted field. |
