Description
Nederlands: WERKENDAM - Deze week zijn er twee waterbuffeltjes geboren in de Noordwaard, het noordelijke deel van de Biesbosch.

Waterbuffels worden in de Noordwaard ingezet met een specifiek doel, namelijk grazen. Zij kunnen op plekken komen waar andere grazers niet kunnen komen. “De waterbuffels komen overal en houden zo het gebied open”, aldus Tanja de Bode van FREE Nature.

De groep waterbuffels wordt met de twee net geborenen wel steeds groter, tot nu toe is de uitbreiding van de kudde geen probleem voor het gebied.
