  • Significance: Building 1168 is significant as a support structure to Letterman Hospital during the period from 1937 to 1940, and from 1941 to 1945. Utilitarian in function, using standard materials and construction methods, its design and construction display a concern for its appearance. It is a contributory structure to the Presidio of San Francisco's National Historic Landmark district.
