Description
English: AWM caption: Tokyo Bay, Japan. 2 September 1945. General Sir Thomas Blamey (at the table) about to sign the surrender document on behalf of Australia. Behind General Blamey are the other members of the Australian delegation. The signing took place on board Admiral Nimitz's flagship USS Missouri. Allied delegations are lined up behind their delegation leader waiting their turn to sign the surrender document. Left to right: Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, US; General Hsu Yung-Chang, Nationalist Chinese; Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser, UK; Lt Gen K. N. Derevyanko, Soviet Union; Colonel L. Moore-Cosgrove, Canada; Gen B. J.
