Summary
[edit]DescriptionAverling and Porter Streamroller Factory, Offices Strood - geograph.org.uk - 1579414.jpg |
English: Averling and Porter Streamroller Factory, Offices Strood. On Rochester Esplanade overlooking the River Medway. These former factory offices were part of Medway Council's Civic Centre until the Local Conservative Party (running Medway Council) decided to sell and move across the river to its current Gun Wharf headquarters 1024482 in May 2008.
Currently there is a local campaign to save this part of the civic centre from being demolished. See http://www.stroodlabour.org.uk/ap.html and http://www.medway.gov.uk/tourism/44632/45143/45261/96141/96194.htm for more details. Also, the building has recently been featured on BBC South East TV News. |
