Português: Há 70 anos, chegava ao fim o período de quase uma década em que o Senado esteve banido do cenário político brasileiro. Os senadores finalmente puderam voltar ao Palácio Monroe, o edifício de arquitetura aristocrática no centro do Rio, na tarde de 23 de setembro de 1946. O golpe de morte contra o Senado fora dado pelo presidente Getúlio Vargas em 1937, com a imposição da ditadura do Estado Novo. A reportagem de Ricardo Westin, do Jornal do Senado, conta essa história. |
