Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Depiction of the Spanish captain Andrés de Tapia (circa 1497-1561), who participated in the Spanish-Aztec War and became the first encomendero of Cholula, in the Manuscrito del Aperreamiento, a document written in 1560 documenting the abuses by Spanish authorities in Cholula, specially notable for its depiction of Spaniards using dogs to kill the local indians. Here Andrés de Tapia is depicted interacting with indian authorities, along with a text in Nahuatl saying that he appointed a man named Temetzin to become governor of Cholula after the previous 7 tlahtoque had died, and that he later appointed a man named Rodrigo Xochitototzintli as his successor.
