| Description |
English: Ancient raised beach on Foveran links This was the beach after the end of the last ice age. It is higher than the current beach because the land was depressed by the weight of ice during the ice age. Over the centuries the ice-free land has gradually risen, taking with it the ancient pebble beach. The present beach lies beyond and below the figure in red. |
