| Description |
English: Anchor, Ballymacormick Point. An anchor at the extreme northerly tip of Ballymacormick Point described in 806722. There have been many shipwrecks here over the years and I presume that this is the remnants of one of them - the site at http://www.irishwrecksonline.net/Lists/DownNorthListA.htm lists the names of 19th and 20th Century wrecks. Note - these rocks are only accessible at low tide. If you wish to visit this area be warned - check the tides in advance or you will get trapped and it is quite a perilous journey across some extremely slippy and jagged rocks from the main path at Ballymacormick Point. |
