Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Two preserved London Transport buses, RLH class RLH61 (reg. MXX 261) belonging to Ensignbus on the left, and RM class prototype RM1 (reg. SLT 56) belonging to the London Transport Museum on the right. They're pictured at the London Underground's District Line depot in Upminster. It's operating a shuttle service between the depot and Upminster itself, during the depot's 50th anniversary open weekend. Notice that the upper-deck emergency exit window of this RLH double-decker is divided unlike that of the Routemaster RM to the right of it. There is also no facility for a rear destination blind; this was because the RLH-class was not originally intended for London Transport. But the RLHs did carry rear number stencils in the rear lower-deck window. View taken looking south.
