Description

Schönheide im Erzgebirge: Der Ortsteil Altes Wiesenhaus, allgemein kurz Altwiesenhaus genannt, liegt an der Zwickauer Mulde an der Bundesstraße 283 zwischen den Ortsteilen Schönheiderhammer und Wilzschhaus. Am Rand der Straße steigen steil die Wälder auf bis auf eine Höhe von über 900 Metern.


Die frühere Bahnstrecke Chemnitz–Adorf hatte in Schönheide Bahnhöfe in Schönheiderhammer – von 1950 an von der Reichsbahn als Bahnhof „Schönheide Ost“ bezeichnet – und in Wilzschhaus, von Schönheiderhammmer aus muldeaufwärts gelegen und seit 1950 als Schönheide Süd bezeichnet. Hier ist der eingleisige Streckenabschnitt des Ortsteils „Altes Wiesenhaus“ zu sehen.
