Summary
[edit]DescriptionAfternoon at Outfitting Wharf, Belfast - geograph.org.uk - 978845.jpg |
English: Afternoon at Outfitting Wharf, Belfast. Two jack-up rigs, 'Lisa-A' [1] (left) and 'JB109' [2] (centre) sit beside the decommissioned ferry 'Stena Discovery' [3] at Outfitting Wharf in Belfast docks. The jack-up rigs are currently involved in the construction of an offshore windfarm at Robin Rigg in the Solway Firth [4] but continue to spend more time idle in Belfast; the ferry is almost a permanent fixture here now. See also 978843, 1040138 and [5] for some other related images - Outfitting Wharf is located alongside the Belfast Dry Dock (see 842919) but was constructed some 7 years later in 1975. It has a total lineal quayage of 433 metres. |
