||
Description |
English: A copper alloy and enamelled horse harness pendant, dating to the medieval period. The pendant is shield shaped. Only a fragment of the rectangular section suspension loop remains. The upper surface is decorated with an enamelled heraldic design comprising six red birds (eagles?) superimposed on a background of six horizontal blue stripes. The underside of the pendant is flat and plain, but is heavily corroded. The pendant measures 37mm in length and has a maximum width of 26mm. It has a thickness of 4mm. |
