Obverse: Shield of St George within a wreath formed of a palm and laurel branch

Reverse: conjoined shield of St George and the shield of Ireland, above these is a number one between two pellets.

The coin has been deliberately pierced through its centre, from the obverse to the reverse. This may have been done to de-value the coin.
