Page 68 of the November 1918 edition University of Chicago Magazine (Vol. XI No. 1) indicates that Eldon Cobb Evans earned his Ph.D. in 1915 and died of pneumonia on September 26, 1918, at Dartmouth College, Hanover, of which college he had been a member of the faculty for two years.
