Français : Détail du monument funéraire d'un chef local décédé en 1971 au cimetière de Davié. La ville de Davié est située à 30 km au nord de Lomé dans la zone côtière (Région Maritime) du Togo. Le lieu Davié s'écrit aussi Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. Selon la tradition, Davié a été fondé par deux hommes, Tokbékpoe et Deh, qui faisaient partie d'un groupe de migrants du Bénin voisin où ils se sont d'abord rendus après l'effondrement du royaume de Tado dans l'est du Togo. La photo montre un gros plan d'un mausolée avec l'inscription "Yawo Mesardzowoto / Ekule 10-9-71 (ou : 10-7-71) Davié". Le monument funéraire comprend la sculpture d'un dignitaire (un roi ou un chef ?) en tenue traditionnelle, assis sous un parasol aux couleurs vert, rouge et jaune : les couleurs du drapeau du Bénin, 1959-1975 (alors Dahomey) ; 1990-présent. Le défunt porte dans sa main gauche un bâton qui symbolise son pouvoir, le bouton étant une main tenant une clé. Le défunt est très probablement un chef de famille ou de tribu et la date mentionnée est-elle le 10-9-71 ou le 10-7-71 ? la date de son décès. À côté de la personne représentée se trouve une statue de léopard. Sur le parasol est un symbole non identifié un oiseau ? En arrière-plan, du plastique coloré ? fleurs au pied d'une pierre tombale. The town of Davié is located 30 km north of Lomé in the coastal area (Région Maritime) of Togo. The place Davié is also spelled Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. According to tradition, Davié was founded by two men, Tokbékpoe and Deh, who were part of a group of migrants from neighboring Benin where they initially went after the collapse of the Tado kingdom in eastern Togo. The photo shows a close-up of a mausoleum with the inscription "Yawo Mesardzowoto / Ekule 10-9-71 (or: 10-7-71) Davié". The funerary monument includes the sculpture of a dignitary (a king or chieftain?) in traditional clothing, seated under a parasol in the colors green, red and yellow: the colors of the flag of Benin, 1959-1975 (then Dahomey); 1990-present. The deceased has in his left hand a staff that symbolizes his power, with the button being a hand holding a key. Most likely the deceased is a family or tribal chief and is the date mentioned 10-9-71 or 10-7-71? the date of his death. Next to the person depicted is a statue of a leopard. Het plaatsje Davié ligt 30 km ten noorden van Lomé in het kustgebied (Région Maritime) van Togo. De plaats Davié wordt ook wel gespeld als Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. Volgens de overlevering is Davié gesticht door twee mannen, Tokbékpoe en Deh, die deel uitmaakten van een groep migranten uit naburig Benin waar zij in eerste instantie waren heengegaan na het uiteenvallen van het Tado koninkrijk in oostelijk Togo. De foto toont een close-up van een praalgraf met opschrift "Yawo Mesardzowoto / Ekule 10-9-71 (of: 10-7-71) Davié". Het grafmonument bevat de sculptuur van een hoogwaardigheidsbekleder (een koning of stamhoofd?) in traditionele kledij, gezeten onder een parasol in de kleuren groen, rood en geel: de kleuren van de vlag van Benin, 1959-1975 (toen Dahomey); 1990-heden. De afgebeelde overledene heeft in de linkerhand een staf die zijn macht symboliseert met als knop een hand die een sleutel vasthoudt. Zeer waarschijnlijk is de afgebeelde overledene een familie- of stamhoofd en is de vermelde datum 10-9-71 of 10-7-71? de datum van zijn overlijden. Naast de afgebeelde persoon bevindt zich een standbeeld van een luipaard. Op de parasol staat een niet-geïdentificeerd symbool een vogel?
