Français : Un cimetière aux monuments blancs dans la ville de Davié située à 30 km au nord de Lomé dans la région côtière (Région Maritime) du Togo. Le toponyme s'écrit aussi Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. Au premier plan, quelques monuments funéraires. Ce cimetière de Davié contient des monuments funéraires remarquables et artistiques des rois et autres dignitaires qui y sont enterrés. Selon la tradition, Davié a été fondé par deux hommes, Tokbékpoe et Deh, qui faisaient partie d'un groupe de migrants du Bénin voisin où ils se sont d'abord rendus après l'effondrement du royaume de Tado dans l'est du Togo. La photo montre un mausolée avec la sculpture d'un dignitaire, symbolisant le défunt (voir scan 058 pour un gros plan), assis sous un parasol en vert, rouge et jaune : les couleurs du drapeau du Bénin, 1959-1975 (alors Dahomey); 1990-présent. À côté de cette statue se trouve une statue de léopard. Sur le parasol se trouve un symbole non-identifié, un oiseau ? Au bord du cimetière sont des plastiques colorés ? fleurs au pied d'une pierre tombale. Voir aussi les scans 058 et 059. En arrière-plan, un terrain d'essai d'un institut de recherche d'origine française pour l'agriculture tropicale : l'Institut de Recherches Agronomiques Tropicales (IRAT), du Ministère du Développement Rural / Ministère du Développement Rural du Togo. The place name is also spelled Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. In the foreground are some funerary monuments. This Davié cemetery contains some remarkable and artistic funerary monuments of kings and other dignitaries buried there. According to tradition, Davié was founded by two men, Tokbékpoe and Deh, who were part of a group of migrants from neighboring Benin where they initially went after the collapse of the Tado kingdom in eastern Togo. The photo shows a mausoleum with the sculpture of a dignitary, symbolizing the deceased (see scan 058 for a close-up), seated under a parasol in green, red and yellow: the colors of the flag of Benin, 1959-1975 (then Dahomey); 1990-present. Next to this statue is a statue of a leopard. On the parasol is an unidentified symbol, a bird? At the edge of the cemetery are colored plastic? flowers at the foot of a tombstone. In the background a test field of an originally French research institute for tropical agriculture: the Institut de Recherches Agronomiques Tropicales (IRAT), of the Togolese Ministry of Rural Development / Ministère du Développement Rural. Nederlands: Een begraafplaats met witte monumenten in het stadje Davié ligt 30 km ten noorden van Lomé in het kustgebied (Région Maritime) van Togo. De plaatsnaam wordt ook gespeld als Davie, Davyé, Dawie-Dekpo, Dawië-Dékpo. Op de voorgrond enkele grafmonumenten. Deze begraafplaats van Davié bevat enkele opmerkelijke en kunstzinnige grafmonumenten van koningen en andere hoogwaardigheidsbekleders die er zijn begraven. Volgens de overlevering is Davié gesticht door twee mannen, Tokbékpoe en Deh, die deel uitmaakten van een groep migranten uit naburig Benin waar zij in eerste instantie waren heengegaan na het uiteenvallen van het Tado koninkrijk in oostelijk Togo. De foto toont een praalgraf waarop de sculptuur van een hoogwaardigheidsbekleder, de overledene symboliserend (zie scan 058 voor een close-up), gezeten onder een parasol in de kleuren groen, rood en geel: de kleuren van de vlag van Benin, 1959-1975 (toen Dahomey); 1990- heden. Naast dit stand beeld staat een standbeeld van een luipaard. Op de parasol staat een niet-geïdentificeerd symbool, een vogel? Aan de rand van de begraafplaats liggen gekleurde plastic? bloemen aan de voet van een grafsteen. Zie ook de scans 058 en 059.
