Description Four U.S. Navy Douglas AD-1 Skyraider from Attack Squadron VA-3B in flight, with their dive breaks extended. VA-3B was assigned to Carrier Air Group 4 (CVG-4) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVB-42) for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 13 September 1948 to 23 January 1949. During that cruise, VA-3B was redesignated VA-44, in October 1948.
