  • Significance: Established by ordinance in 1965, the Dayton Street Historic Interest Area contains 3 designated areas to be preserved. The primary focus is upon "Area A," that part of the Interest Area between Linn Street and Freeman Street. This portion of the Interest Area contains 42 late 19th century townhouses, and makes up what is known historically as "Millionaires Row." This reference alludes to the numerous wealthy merchants of the area who owned and/or occupied these houses between 1870 and WWI...
