Deutsch: Das Viertel Vallvidrera liegt gut 300 Meter höher als das Zentrum von Barcelona. Anfänglich hauptsächlich Standort der Sommerhäuser der besser betuchten Stadtbevölkerung hat sich der nicht zuletzt wegen seiner tollen Aussicht beliebte Stadtteil zu einer der teuersten Wohngegenden Barcelonas entwickelt. Bereits 1906 verband man das Viertel durch eine Standseilbahn mit der Stadt. Während die Talstation damals noch von der Strassenbahn erschlossen wurde, verläuft heute direkt daneben eine Linie der Metro del Vallès, einer in dichtem Takt verkehrenden Vorortbahn.
Die ins Tarifsystem der Stadt integrierte Seilbahn wurde 1998 vollständig erneuert und für den automatischen Betrieb eingerichtet. Die Bahn verkehrt wochentags alle sechs Minuten. Der Fahrtwunsch muss allerdings in den Kabinen mittels Knopfdruck angemeldet werden damit sich die Bahn zur fahrplanmässigen Abfahrtszeit in Bewegung setzt. Auf die gleiche Weise kann ein Halt an der wenig oberhalb der Ausweiche gelegenen Zwischenstation Carretera de les Aigües verlangt werden. Die beiden Wagen mit Platz für je 50 Personen sind klimatisiert. Die dafür nötige Energie wird durch seitliche Stromschienen zugeführt (Spannung 220 Volt).
