[edit]Description4 figures for multiple applications of a randomly generated unitary matrix (3rd example).tif |
English: The sequence of figures depicts the evolution of a small-scale quantum system. It shows the evolution steps after multiple repetitions. Specifically, the first one is for 50 steps (up and left), the second for 100 (up and right), the third one for 175 (down and left), and the last one for 300 steps. This system derives from multiple applications of a randomly generated unitary matrix simulating an associated quantum operator. This operator act on a single qubit, therefore the State 0 and State 1 correspond to this qubit (they are actually vectors describing these quantum states).
The figure encloses an elegant periodic nature, an observation that is a result from the inherited rotation through the associated unitary matrix, offering this impressive patterns. The figure was produced in MatLab under appropriate scripts written by Konstantinos Giannakis and Theodore Andronikos that are used in simulating quantum evolution of 1-qubit vectors.Ελληνικά: Η σειρά εικόνων απεικονίζει την εξέλιξη ενός μικρού σε κλίμακα κβαντικού συστήματος.
