Português: Entrevista com a liderança Guarani Mbya e coordenador do Conselho de Articulação do Povo Guarani, Maurício Gonçalves da Silva, durante o 10º Encontro Sepé Tiaraju, entre os dias 5 e 8 de fevereiro de 2016, em São Gabriel (RS).
No dia 7 de fevereiro de 1756, o Guarani que liderava a resistência indígena contra os portugueses e espanhóis, Sepé Tiaraju, foi assassinado pelos militares em uma emboscada. Há dez anos, os Guarani Mbya - junto de outras populações Guarani no Brasil, Argentina, Bolívia e Paraguai, e também dos Kaingang - se reúnem no mesmo local onde Sepé foi morto. Em 2016, mais de 600 indígenas se encontraram para reafirmar, conforme o documento final do encontro, assinado pelos participantes: “a nossa luta continua, assim como o sonho de Sepé pela conquista, defesa de uma Terra Sem Males e pelo direito de vivermos em paz”. |
