Description
English: NEW bodycam video shows Capitol Police officer pepper sprayed during Capitol riot

The Department of Justice released shocking new bodycam video and surveillance video of the moment Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was attacked by Capitol riot suspects George Tanios and Julian Khater. Videos show Capitol Officers pepper sprayed and assaulted by Capitol rioters.

The video was shown in court and is the most graphic footage yet of the Capitol insurrection where pro-Trump rioters stormed Capitol grounds over unfounded claims of election fraud.

U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes the day following the Capitol riot after suffering two strokes, the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled.

Julian Khater, of Pennsylvania, a Capitol riot defendant is indicted for assaulting police with bear spray on January 6. He can be seen in the video spraying a chemical irritant at Capitol Police officers during the insurrection.

George Tanios, of West Virginia, is indicted on 10 counts, including assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon and obstruction of an official proceeding – both of which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
