Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Historic Providence Well site at 237 North Main Street in the Roger Williams National Memorial, marks the place where Roger Williams found a spring of fresh water in 1636, which became the water supply for the new settlement of Providence. It is part of a small courtyard called the Hahn Memorial, given to the city of Providence by Judge Jacob Hahn and constructed in 1931-1933. The landscaping was designed by architect Norman M. Isham.
