| Description |
English: Coronaviridae is a family of enveloped, RNA viruses that cause diseases in human beings and other animals.It includes two genera. Coronavirus, and Torovirus. Coronaviruses are more important as they cause variety of diseases. They have been divided into four genera, alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-coronavirus. Alpha and beta group contain viruses infecting humans. The coronavirus particle consists of a lipid envelop with spiky projections. Coronaviruses also contain at least four structural protein, E protein, M protein, N protein and S protein. COVID-19 is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. There is ongoing research on COVID-19. Sqadia.com will continue to share updated findings. |
