Description
English: Klein Motor Company Showroom - Allentown PA

This 1929 photo shows the showroom of the Klein Motor Company at 723 Chew Street in Allentown. Klein Motors sold new Chrysler and Plymouth vehicles in 1929; it was founded in 1920 by Harry W Klein. It reorganized in 1932 and was renamed qs the lehigh Motor Company.

In 1953, Lehigh Motor Company lost its new car affiliation with Chrysler/Plymouth and moved to 17th and Tilghman streets where it opened up a used car lot. It sold the building on Chew Street, which was squired by the City of Allentown. The building was extensively renovated and became Allentown's Central Fire Station.

Lehigh Motors filed for bankruptcy and went out of business at the end of 1965.
