The Klein Motor Car Company opened in 1913 at 12 North Eleventh Street, the corner of North Eleventh and Hamilton Streets. It was founded in 1920 by Harry W Klein. It initially sold Mitchell automobiles. In 1916 it also added Humpmobiles and Oaklands.

In 1924, Klein became the distributor for Walter Chrysler's vehicles in Allentown after Chrysler purchased Maxwell and started his own company. In 1929, it moved to a new building at 723 Chew Street in Allentown. It reorganized in 1932 by a merger with the Lehigh Motor Company and the Klein name was terminated.
