Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This early service station was opened by the Atlantic Refining Company in 1920, making it one of the oldest gas stations in Allentown. The original design was that of a Spanish villa, with gas pumps having ornate light fixtures. Next door was the Lawfer Automotive Company, one of the early Ford Dealers in the United closed in late 1958. A massive fire destroyed the unused dealership building in 1968 and it was replaced by the Blue Cross-Blue Shield headquarters building. The gas station has been rebuilt several times over the years and is now a Sunoco mini-mart.
