Nederlands: 'Une heure de la nuit'Abraham Willet hield van sculpturen met een sensuele uitstraling. Hij bezat De Morgenstond al toen hij nog in zijn ouderlijk huis aan de Keizersgracht woonde. Daar sierde het de vensterbank van zijn studeerkamer. Pollets oerversie van het beeld had furore gemaakt op de Parijse Salons van 1848 en 1850. Al snel werden kopieën in marmer en brons in verschillende formaten uitgebracht. Het beeldje van Roskam wijkt slechts in kleine onderdelen af van het origineel.
