Ernst Thälmann

English: Ernst Thälmann (April 16, 1886 – August 18, 1944) was the leader of the en:Communist Party of Germany (KPD) during much of the en:Weimar Republic. He was arrested by the Gestapo in 1933 and held in en:solitary confinement. Because Joseph Stalin showed no interest in dealing with Adolf Hitler about his life, he was brought after 11 years of inprisonment to Buchenwald concentration camp. There he was shot and cremated within some hours .
