{{Edit request}} Hello, I want to report that in Italian is more correct to write "1º" for the first day of the month, so I request the addition of:

         ]

and:

             "month day (default: 'j F')",

Can someone please update the Croatian date formats as follows:

• "hr": "j. F Y." → "j. xg Y."
• "hr": "F Y." → no change
• "hr": "j. F" → "j. xg"

Explanation: 2024-11-30 needs to be "30. studenoga 2024." (month name in the genitive case: the 30th day of November of 2024.), whereas 2024-11 is "studeni 2024." Do we need to add the month names in the genitive case to Data:I18n/MonthCases.tab? That'd be: siječnja, veljače, ožujka, travnja, svibnja, lipnja, srpnja, kolovoza, rujna, listopada, studenoga, prosinca. Ponor (talk) 18:23, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Ponor, {{#time:xg|2024-01|hr}} gives "siječnja" so we do not need to add them to Data:I18n/MonthCases.tab. That file is mostly for other cases used by {{Complex date}}. --Jarekt (talk) 19:48, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Thanks, @Jarekt. I was hoping that'd fix the date in {{Information}} for https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Stecak_Dobranje_01.jpg?uselang=hr, but it didn't (not even after action=purge). Any idea what's going on here? "17. kolovoz 2024." should be "17. kolovoza 2024."

A user also asked me why other dates are incorrect for uselang=hr on Page history, Watchlist etc. (all showing month names in the nominative case). Is that something from translatewiki.net, you know? Ponor (talk) 20:04, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Ponor, I would give it a few days and then check the file again. For some reasons changes to Data:DateI18n.tab do not have immediate effects. Maybe some extra deep caching. As for bad date translation on wiki pages controlled by Wikimedia I am often frustrated by this. However phabricator:T223772 seem to be moving lately, so at some point Wikimedia software would be able to generate correct dates, than it would make sense to start asking for fixes to specific pages. --Jarekt (talk) 03:12, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

FYI: A week ago, someone did this at translatewiki. The nominative case messages had month names in the genitive case, and our whole system depended on the bug. I hope there's a quick solution (and I don't mean local translation to the wrong case again). Ponor (talk) 09:47, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

The above tests now work. Page history month names are still in the nominative case for uselang=hr (Croatian), but in the genitive case for uselang=uk (Ukrainian). Ponor (talk) 20:26, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
