Date of death
[edit]@Vincent Steenberg: Maybe you can help me with interpretation of https://rkd.nl/en/explore/artists/300811. My understanding is that he died and was buried on 11 April 1800, so I only included a single date of death as more relevant. Does your revert, indicate lack of confidence in RKD date of death or my interpretation of it, or is it more of a desire to have date of burial included whenever known? --Jarekt (talk) 14:10, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, I see what you mean. Usually when only burial date is know it says something like "1811-04/1811-04-11" in the "Deaceased" field.
- However, I did some research and I found some interesting results:
- According to the Stadsarchief Amsterdam he was not buried on the 11th, but on the 18th (see https://archief.amsterdam/indexen/begraafregisters_1553-1811/zoek/query.nl.pl?i1=1&a1=Fouguet%20jr.&x=12&z=a), where is name is spelled Fouguet jr.!!!
- Secondly, I found an obituary in the Leiden newspaper Nouvelles politiques, in which he is said to have died on the 13th (see https://resolver.kb.nl/resolve?urn=ddd:010722326:mpeg21:a0005).
- So he didn't die on the 11th or the 18th, but on the 13th April 1800. Vincent Steenberg (talk) 15:34, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
