Global page for WSC on commons

[edit]

Hi! I have just created Commons:Wiki Science Competition 2017. It would be better IMHO if the countries with a common page agree on similar names.--Alexmar983 (talk) 07:13, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but what is wrong with our name? --Ailura (talk) 08:00, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In theory nothing, I am pointing out you all use different name styles so far. It would be nice to agree on a common one, which might be yours. I think yours is the best, actually.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:04, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Zulässige Bilder

[edit]

Hi!

Braveheart (talk) 13:40, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Und welcher Wissenschaftsdisziplin würdest Du Autofotos jetzt zuordnen? Irgendwie bin ich grad phantasielos. --Ailura (talk) 10:28, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, Verkehrswissenschaften? ;-) Oder sind Bilder von historischen Gegenständen eher unerwünscht? Braveheart (talk) 16:04, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Naja, vielleicht zählt sowas ja auch schon als Archäologie. --Ailura (talk) 17:51, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously ineligible submissions for WSC 2017 in Austria

[edit]

Hi, since there are not a lot of files maybe we can remove Category:Images from Wiki Science Competition 2017 in Austria check done. Now for the terrible files (actually one is a finalists there, but some are crap) we have the new "uns" template code (unsuitable). Basically, you simply add to the template and creates a red link to the new category. If you have time to ret-connect the situation, that would nice. this way we have a clear statistics for all the countries. Please notice that "unsuitable" means terrible, obviously not scientific... files with limited size or watermark are disqualified but we agreed that they deserve to be kept in the main category. If a generic user take a look there it's because he wants to see some scientific images form that country, he is not looking for purism.--Alexmar983 (talk) 03:12, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alexmar, i don't want to describe any of our contributions as terrible, but i will add that ineligeble category to some of them (although the jury looked at every image). We stopped the checking of the images in an early stage so i agree the category should be removed. --Ailura (talk) 11:33, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
