Australia's Monument ID

[edit]

@Effeietsanders: shall we use the QIDs as the monument IDs for Brisbane? I can provide this information in the corresponding column in the table. --LilyOfTheWest (talk) 00:53, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@LilyOfTheWest: Australia has the unique Place_id , which is government issued. If you stick with that, they can also keep using non-Wikipedia sites to find their monuments. For this instance, that seems most appropriate. I would not encourage the use of two identifier systems in a single template, because the monument identifier template links to a government database with more information, using this identifier in the url. We could create a generic monument-template that uses the Q-number though, if it is important enough. Effeietsanders (talk) 07:17, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Effeietsanders. I went with "place_id" per our off-thread discussion. --LilyOfTheWest (talk) 00:46, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
