Please mention that it is nice to mirror images locally - when using them on high traffic sites, it should be strongly encouraged. When copying the image, the license and author-info should also be copied... that's why i originally included them in the RSS feed.

Anyway, I don't know how to put this into pretty words and fit it into the press release... I'll leave that to you :) -- Duesentrieb 10:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would have been nice if it was an Atom feed. Shinobu 00:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The RSS feed appears to be b0rken :-( Shinobu 05:35, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like this version since it just shows the potd, no clicking required. Google homepage only: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=en&root=%2Fig&dpos=top&num=24&url=http://drbeagledotcom.googlepages.com/wppod.xml Calibas 01:33, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, this is only for the english Wikipedia potd. Calibas 02:19, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Include desc?

[edit]

Is it possible to include the description from the image page template in the feed? Or create an alternate feed with descriptions? I love seeing these pictures in my reader, but with only the filename to go on, I'm often left saying "it's gorgeous, but what IS it?" Thanks! 76.175.49.89 18:15, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RSS feed down

[edit]

RSS feed is down again (April 15 2017). I think it has been down for a few weeks. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.95.169.33 (talk) 18:53, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the POTD RSS feed is a longer time down. Are there known issues? -- -donald- (talk) 07:40, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have searched a lot but have not been able to find any information on why it is down. I found an alternative though: [1]. It seems to be a different feed than the other one though, this one being Wikipedia's Picture of the Day, while the other one was Commons Picture of the Day. Or something like that. --ReCover (talk) 22:32, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
