• Split the voting gadget into two.
  • One that makes the galleries randomized and adds the resolution slider
  • One that just adds the AJAX vote button + voter eligibility
• I want to move the creation of the vote pages to a web tool, that seems like an easy thing to start with

I set up a fedi-share tool so we can remove Twitter and probably Facebook too and promote the Fediverse/Mastodon instead. Legoktm (talk) 04:40, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Scaffolding of the web tool now exists: https://poty-stuff.toolforge.org/ (still waiting on OAuth approval, will ping folks tomorrow)

I am envisioning this will:

• create the year-specific pages from templates  Done, see Commons:Picture of the Year/Init.
• pull the list of images and generate the candidates gallery (might not be ready for 2022, blocked by T333069)  Done
• generate voting pages for each R1 image  Done
• tabulate R1 voting pages, calculate results
• generate voting pages for each R2 image
• tabulate R2 voting pages, calculate results
• generate a MassMessage list based on 2021 voters
