The translation is not perfect yet, but I hope it can be used as a starting point. I would need to know the values for {NAME} to smoothen the translation, otherways it may look strangs at some points. --Matt314 22:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

What is NAME?

What is {{NAME}} ? I need to know if it is singular or plural, if it is masculine or famale gender. It is difficult to do translation without knowing were the text will go. -- AnyFile 10:07, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Similar problem for ['notvoted'] = u'(not voted)'.

{{NAME}} is Picture of the Year 2007. (not voted) will be behind a category you have not voted for. For example: Animals (not voted). votecaption will be put in the table above the checkboxes you select to vote. So I guess it's a verb (vote for this image). Category names

Are you planning to provide translations for categories names? It would look better on the voting page and would provide better user experience for translated UI. It would be good to use localised version of {{NAME}} as well. mfx ^Q&A 17:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

{{NAME}} can be removed and changed for the localized version. I changed the English version accordingly I think. Localized category names would be cool, but I don't know whether I have time to implement it. If you can program Python or know somebody who can, let me know and we can work something out. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:34, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Bryan, I have not written much in Python lately but I dare say I am rather proficient in languages like C#, Perl, Java or PHP so I think I should be able to help. I believe translated category names would greatly improve voting experience for non-English speakers which makes it worth implementing with little extra effort. About {{LINK}}

Since there are now translated versions of pages like {{LINK}}/Voting - can this too be replaces by a direct link (like the {{NAME}} token)? I can see the profit of having it as a token/variable and don't think it would be feasible / sensible to substitute the base URL for various languages. mfx ^Q&A 22:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC) BTW. I presume you watch changes to translations' pages.

Galleries

Just want to remind everyone that the gallery page also needs translating. Currently only three languages (including en) has this page although several other languages has wikipages marekd as  Done. /Lokal_Profil 23:16, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
