FOP Uganda: buildings only or not?
[edit]The FOP Uganda section generally says something about buildings, and how about sculptures or else? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 05:28, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Aymatth2 Any ideas on it? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:46, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- Section 15.1.g (Fair use of works protected by copyright) applies to works of art or architecture, so would include sculptures, paintings etc. There are two parts:
- If the work of art is permanently located in a public place – any place or conveyance the public can enter – it can be freely photographed or filmed
- Even if it is not in a public place, a work of art or architecture can be used as background in a photograph or film as long as it is not the main subject.
- This seems fairly permissive, although I suppose for the second case there should be a template saying "do not crop this image so the protected work becomes the main subject", something like that. Aymatth2 (talk) 15:03, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
