[edit]I'd like this page to be archived by MiszaBot. Since I've not been hanging around, I don't know how fast it should happen. Perhaps some of the more experienced bot operators could set it up, or suggest a suitable time frame? – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 17:11, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, we should simply archive those who are done by hand, IMHO. abf /talk to me/ 19:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Most stuff seems already done or quite stale. I set MiszaBot to archive after three months. -- User:Docu at 19:01, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- I reduced to one month. Should be enough. --Schlurcher (talk) 17:23, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, much of Commons:Bots/Work requests/Archive 5 has not been resolved, and I don't think it is stale.--Zolo (talk) 08:50, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- In the meantime, most requests get archived fairly quickly after being done, maybe too quickly. Leaving them there can help other users formulate similar requests.
- Personally, I don't think it matters that much if open requests are archived at some point. Seems odd though that some of these get archived after a few days. -- User:Docu 12:41, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- @Zolo: The sections were archived after not having been edited for 30 days. Which time span would you suggest then? --Leyo 13:22, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think three monts was okay, it would make the page a bit long, but not longer than the average Village Pump. However, judging from commons:batch uploading, it is true than requests than have not been fullfilled in the first 30 days have little chance to be fullfilled later.--Zolo (talk) 13:43, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Your last sentence is probably true… --Leyo 14:00, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't mind 30 days. I had set it to three months initially as it hadn't been archived at all before. -- User:Docu
- Since requests that have been resolved are archived within 5 days, so requests archived after 30 days are those that have not been resolved, maybe they could be given a somewhat longer chance, just in case. Ah I just noticed that pages in Commons:Bots/Work requests/Archive 5 are apparently only requests that have not been fullfilled, so I suppose that we can still browse through them if we want to find old requests still awaiting.--Zolo (talk) 22:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

- Hi User:Basilicofresco, just to let you know I changed the name of this file on your list because I used it in an article. Lotje ʘ‿ʘ (talk) 13:28, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
Logging in with PWB
[edit]I get an error message everytime I try to log in on Commons with my pywikibot. This is what I have in my user-config.py:
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*- family = 'commons' mylang = 'en' usernames ['commons']['en'] = u'Vacio'
I had no problem logging in on local Wikipedias. Can anyone help me? --vacio 15:16, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Despite appearances, Commons is not "English". Here's my Faebot user-config:
mylang = 'commons' family = 'commons' usernames['commons']['commons'] = u'Faebot'
- Good luck. --Fæ (talk) 15:31, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
- Now it worked, thank you very much (: ! --vacio 15:34, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
