Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is a public photo competition around cultural heritage monuments, organized by Wikimedia chapters and groups. In 2010 it was organised in the Netherlands, and was followed by a Europe-wide 2011 edition. Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 went global and was organised in several countries around the world, including Brazil, Canada, Chile, India, Panama, Ghana, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa and the United States.
The aim of the contest is to ask the general public—readers and users of Wikipedia, photographers, hobbyists, etc.—to take pictures of cultural heritage monuments and upload them to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia.
Aruba joined the competition twice already: in 2013 and 2014. We now are organizing it on all of the islands of the Dutch Carribean: Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. This competition is organised in close collaboration with the Dutch WLM team.
Main Rules
- The basic set of rules or "recommendations" to run the contest are:
- All photos participating in the competition should be self-taken and self-uploaded;
- Upload is made possible in September only (extraordinary cases will be evaluated individually), both to Wikimedia Commons and an interim external website, e.g. Flickr or Google Picasa;
- The default licence is Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 (CC-BY-SA 4.0);
- All eligible pictures should have an identifier, given by the participants during upload;
- Participants should have their e-mail function enabled on Wikimedia Commons (or the platform they uploaded their photos to) to be eligible for prizes;
- Every country is able to nominate 10 pictures to the international stage of the competition.

- Crop your WLM photo such that it has the 7:1 aspect ratio
- Upload the cropped file here. Don't forget a short description!
