Notes

Host chapter

• Host chapter: WMIT is unfortunately not able to host WLM in the way they would have liked to, due to legal uncertainties in Italian legislation.
• Lodewijk checked back with WMNL, and is discussing options. Platonides is discussing the situation with WMES.
• At this point, improving and updating the grant request becomes more important.

Countries

• There haven't been any news or replies from Australia; (AP) Tomasz to write an e–mail to them, asking for an update.

UNESCO

• UNESCO lists: en:Talk:List_of_World_Heritage_Sites_in_Africa has some discussion about how to template these lists, could use some help there in figuring out a way that also the current community likes it.
• No successful contact yet with UNESCO representatives.

Definition of monuments

• Cristian: If the community does not agree to have the lists in the main (article) namespace, then maybe hold them in another namespace (project)?
• Lodewijk: some community members appear not to want to show certain data which would be rather needed for us, for instance monument number.
• A short discussion about the definition of monuments, most particularly including natural monuments or not. The question is whether the decision on the definition lies with the local team, or that we should make the final decision internationally. Definitions can be adjusted somewhat to local customs - as long as the core of the contest remains the same.

Technical

• GSoC: no news yet.
• Wordpress template: stalled for now, some miscommunication about what had to be done. (AP) Cristian will look around for it in Amsterdam.

Events

• Athens: we were invited for an Europa Nostra, some people from Greece will participate. They are discussing if organizing WLM in Greece, they have a law similar to the Italian one.
• Budapest: Lodewijk applied to participate to the event but there are no more places.
• Wikimania: one presentation has been rejected, one has been accepted.
